Vic. Marriage 1856 RIDGWAY Charles (b. ) - TRIPP Frances Ann (b. ) Vic. #2339

That was the second marriage for Charles. I don't have the first one, probably in England.

It rather looks as though he decided to make a fresh start after Julia's death, took on a new name and moved to a new country. Charles Ridgway and Campbell Hobson have to be one and the same person, surely.

So arrival for Charles 1841 - 1856.

Also Frances Ann Tripp by that date.

I can't find the Tripp family in 1841.

I have found an entry in the London Gazette 1849 where he is declared Bankrupt. This may have been the reason for the name change etc, to avoid creditors.
