Re: Robert BODEL/BODLE/BOODLE/BOOTLE

Thanks gibbo.

That's the death of one of the 2x Robert but don't know which one.

Don't know if the convict married in NSW.

Don't know if these two children are both of Robert & Ann who arrived free in 1841. Different parish and different occupation and different mother's name.

Re: Robert BODEL/BODLE/BOODLE/BOOTLE

Knowing where in NSW the convict ended up would help. If not Argyle/Goulburn area then 1883 death is the one who came free.

Re: Robert BODEL/BODLE/BOODLE/BOOTLE

Same year 1835 but a different convict or an error with name of vessel?

BOOTLE Robert - Mary Anne 1835 42/1922 7 Nov 1842 Certificate of Freedom [4/4378; Reel 1012]

Very little on NSW records site for convicts BODEL (variations).

Not finding much in TROVE.

Southern Argus (Goulburn, NSW : 1881 - 1885) - Thursday 31 August 1882 p.4
MERILLA.
(From our correspoodent.)
Roads.-The road from Kippilaw Ford to Gurrundah is being put in a state of repair from Bodel's to Gurrundah. Nearly four miles have been cleared half a chain wide. A first-class culvert has been built over Gurrundah Creek.

Re: Robert BODEL/BODLE/BOODLE/BOOTLE

One site says the Robert who died in 1883 was the convict and that he helped build the CofE Church at Kippilaw.

Found lots of stuff that relates to my tree - HERE

I can't see a marriage for a Robert Bodel (variations) in NSW. I have found nothing that places the convict in the Goulburn area. I can't find a ToL or a CP or a death. I can't find anything to suggest convicts built the church at Kippilaw 1859-1860 ??? The article did not say ex-convicts.

With baptisms in different parishes and different family name and different mother's name it's not 100% clear all the children are those of the Robert & Ann who arrived from Ireland in 1841. I don't know how one tree has Ann's maiden name as McADAM.
