Hello,

NSW birth 4842/1856 BOODLE ELIZABETH - ROBERT - ANN - GOULBURN

NSW Baptism V18581398 155/1858 BODLE HENRY - ROBERT - ANN

Ann's middle initial may be J (from daughter's death reg).

The name is probably BODEL or BODLE. More of the latter in NSW records.

Probably Robert's death:

5161/1883 BODLE ROBERT - WILLIAM - DIED GURRUNDA - GOULBURN

This is Ann's death:

5289/1882 BODEL ANN J - WILLIAM - ANN - GOULBURN

Neither in Ryerson so no age at death that way.

Looking for the marriage of Robert & Ann.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave

There is a tree suggesting:
1834 Robert Bodle/Boodle aged 24 & Ann Jane McAdam aged 14, Belfast, Antrim, mar. (Unsourced)

Thanks Geoff.

Probably correct but I won't be able to confirm it. Wish I had age at death from newspaper notice or burial record. Not close enough to a direct line to get copies of death certificates.

I purchased 60 credits on ScotlandsPeople on 31st so expect some queries based on death certificates I'll get over the next few days. :)

Regards,

Dave

The tree lists Alexander William b. 1849 as the first in NSW although others born earlier have no pob listed apart from William George in 1840 Belfast.

So arrived 1840-1849 but I can't find them arriving assisted to NSW or Qld. or Vic.

NSW Bap V18491576 35/1849 BODLE ALEXANDER W - ROBERT - ANNE

I can look that one up on film at the library.

I haven't been able to confirm either's age at death :(

The Anc. tree has Robert's arrival as 1835, it doesn't say whether Ann travelled too or followed later. Interestingly, it states he travelled as: New South Wales and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849. I don't have world-wide access unfortunately, I haven't found it on the other listings either.

Their 1st born according to the tree was Robert, b. 30 Mar 1838...

hmmm...

Will have another look.

Geoff

I can find no ref to Robert in convict databases in Australia yet he appears on the passenger list for this vessel with Irish convicts arriving Australia 1835:

Ship: Royal Admiral (3) [1835]

arrival: Royal Admiral
Convict vessel

Master: Dav Fotheringham
Origin: Dublin 1834 Sep 27
Destination: Sydney 1835 Jan 22
