Marriage V1856337 101/1856 CAIRNS ROBERT - DERVIN BRIDGET LD= RC St Mary's Sydney

Birth 1073/1869 CAIRNS DAVID Y - ROBERT - BRIDGET - SYDNEY * middle initial Y= Young

Death 4198/1905 CAIRNS ROBERT - WALTER - HELEN - BALMAIN SOUTH

The Sydney Morning Herald - Fri 12 May 1905 p.6
DEATHS
CAIRNS.-May 11, 1905, at his residence, 25 Theodore-street, Balmain, Robert Cairns, in his 76th year, a resident of Miller's Point for nearly 50 years.

Death 8814/1919 CAIRNS DAVID - ROBERT W - BRIDGET - BALMAIN SOUTH * the Initial W looks to be an error given the following death

Death 9865/1936 CAIRNS ROBERT WALTER - ROBERT YOUNG - BRIDGET - BALMAIN * perhaps the middle name Young is an error

Looking for info on Robert senior before his 1856 marriage. Born abt 1830.

Thanks,

Dave

I can't find Robert Cairns born 1829 in 1841 census in Scotland.

No death in NSW index for a Walter or Helen Cairns.

No Robert Cairns in Assisted to NSW who fits.

Thanks Val.

They must have had two sons named Robert. Looks like the 2nd one got his grandfather name Walter as a middle name.

There is a notice in Trove of a young son Robert drowning. No age mentioned. I'll have to go back as I didn't save the URL.

Thanks Val.

Seems to be no other baptisms in SP for any other children.

Eyre died 1 Feb and buried 3 Feb.

2x Robert in 1841 - one not old enough and one the right age but listed as not born Dundee, Angus.
