This one is proving to be a pain. Josephine Ladd is no problem, she was born in USA and have all her details but Robert Henry is another matter. His father was William, gleaned from marriage cert. but finding his birth in Ceylon and his mother is the problem. Was his father in the military or a diplomat in Ceylon, did he return to England with Robert. Got Robert on the 1901 and 1911 census's and 1939 register all after he was married and Josephine on 1891 before marriage. Any suggestions?

Thank you Bootzy for that information, I have nearly every thing about William George Wood except the death of his first wife Helen. Not sure though if he was in the military or a civil servant in Ceylon and why his wife was there with him. Still can't find the birth records for Robert and Helen, tried the Kabristan Archives but they have nothing and Dave looked on Fibis without success. Nothing on the usual pay sites, the National Archives may have some records but browsing their site has always been a nightmare for me. Thanks again for your help.
