That's an interesting place to get the death notice.

HYNES Robert Morris (Ross) Death notice 27MAR1959 Death at Paddington SMH 28MAR1959

28 Mar 1959 missing from reel SLNSW & Vic.

The master copy of the SMH for 28 March 1959 was checked at SLNSW and in Victoria and that issue was found to be missing from the film.

We have lots of stuff about him but no idea where he was born.

Electoral Year: 1913

Unless he moved house that year and his name wasn't removed

Thanks Geoff.

I'd say the compositor is ruled out.

The one I'm after called himself Ross:

1936 NSW Electoral Roll - Wentworth - Bondi North
HYNES Ross, 36 Matilda street, Bondi, designer

1943 NSW Electoral Roll - Wentworth - Waverley
HYNES Ross, 15 Australia street, Woollahra, teacher

I think these are ruled out also:

Births Dec 1894
Hynes Robert S. Shields 10a 795
Births Sep 1896
Hynes Robert W. Derby 8b 449

Born abt 1892 - parents Morris & Sarah.

1900 US census ?

What did you think of this one, Dave?

What did you think of this one, Dave?

No death in NSW 1932-1936 so it's possibly him with an error for middle name. But, if he preferred to call himself 'Ross' then why change between 1933 and 1936?

A little more info, don't know if it helps
