Thank you very much for looking.

Given that death there should be a Robert in 1871 who fits. Pity that one can't be found. It would be a help to see pob before I decide to spend any credits on a copy of that death certificate. My post was two-fold, to find one or two in 1871 to show one possibly died before 1871 and hopefully have enough info in the census to distinguish the two.

The other problem is that I'm not 100% sure the Robert in the 1861 census is the Robert in my tree. That's why I wondered in the other topic about Mary's middle name. If it was much more likely to be from a grandparent than from an uncle it would make that marriage even less likely to be my Robert's.
