Robert McClinton WW1&WW2

Just found out recently that my ggrandfather,Robert McClinton(1898,Stoneykirk) served in World Wars 1&2..the first as member of Seaforth Highlanders Brigade of Royal Scots and jhe 2nd war in the U.S. Army where he was a P.O.W(a guest of the germans)..i find it pretty fascinating that he was able to survive 2 wars and would love to find out any info on his military life..im at a total stand still and have no idea where to begin to look..any help would be welcome and greatly appreciated..Thanks,Jodi...

This appears to be his medal card WW1 in the national archives, it will give his service number etc. if you havent already got it.

here is a link to the seaforth highlanders, If you know which Battalion he was in you will find which Brigade and Division he served in. Once you find which Division it gives you which battles they were in
