Hello,
Just wondering if there is anyone out there who can help me in trying to locate a birth for my G/Grandfather William George Roberts. He was born c1873/74 Wolverton Bucks, mother Harriet, father unknown. I have tried looking through other relevant sites hoping to finding his actual birth indexed....but no luck... :'(. However, I have found a marriage for him Sept Quarter 1896 & have copy of the cert, but gives no info re his birth etc. Except his name is entered as the reverse of that above. I do know, that he was a Blacksmith in Stony Stratford until his death in very early 1940's, trying to find an index of his death is proving difficult......I am in Canada, so do not have the joy of visiting relevant places to search.

I find that Wolverton was pert of Potterspury district at that time:

Potterspury
Created 1st July 1837. Mainly in Northamptonshire, but included parts of Buckinghamshire.
Sub-district : Potterspury.
GRO volumes : XV (1837-51); 3b (1852-1930).
Calverton, Stony Stratford East, Stony Stratford West, Wolverton.

I have checked FreeBMD, and have the following ROBERTS between 1872 and 1875 in the POTTERSPURY district:
