Robertson, Fife

Hi there
I have come up against a brick wall while looking for the deaths of my 3xgt grandparents, Daniel Robertson and his wife Catherine (nee McKisaick). They were married at Comrie, Perthshire on 3 May 1788. I have no definite births for them either although there are a couple of probables.I thought if I could find their deaths or an MI it may help. It is possible that Catherine was the daughter of Patrick Drummond but no verification.
Any help would be most appreciated.

On the IGI there is a christening for a Catharine Mckisaick parents Patrick Mckisaick and Catharine Drummond on 21/5/1759
also Daniel Robertson ch 27/2/1769 parents Daniel Robertson & Catherine Sim, this would roughly fit in with his marriage year as would this -
1841 census
Daniel Robertson age 72 b.1769 at Wester Caputh Perthshire.
If this is him he was living alone so we can assume his wife had died. I think BMD records for Scotland didn't start until 1855 so I think you are looking at parish records - have you tried looking at genuki? it may help a bit re church records or county records offices or archives.

I have just found on an.....y a family tree called Bruce family tree and the owner is sheilahandclive1 Daniel Robertson is on this tree as born 21/3/1772, parents Daniel Robertson b.1737 and Helen Gall b 1746 and he married at 16 his wife was 29. hope this helps a bit, nothing about deaths though, that might remain a mystery

Thank you for the info. That birth for Catherine was the one that I had for her connection to the Drummond family, but as there is another one in 1761 for a Catherine born to John Mckisaik and Christian McBeath.
I was leaning towards the Drummond connection but need verification which is proving difficult.
The Bruce Tree on the A.....y site is mine. I was never sure about Daniel being the right one because of the age difference. I found him before Catherine and entered it in, but I am not happy with it. The one you have found seems to fit better...I have not come across that one.
All their children were born in Fife, and I have concentrated my searching there for MIs, so I am very grateful to you for discovering a possibility in Perthshire.
I think a lot more hunting is necessary!!
