Could some kind soul have a look for the death of this lady.

She had family in Toukley, New South Wales. and she visited there frequently.
I am a bit unsure if she remarried, hence both the names.

She may also have died in England.

She was born in 1883 and was definitely alive after 1950.

Thanks.

Thanks again Maddie.

J or A could be misconstrued etc. Will have to see what happens. Janice(Newmexican) is in contact with Rosina's son's family in Oz. And I think I have made contact on A------y with another of Rosina's son's family.

So hopefully, we may find out exactly what happened to her, although the entry you found looks really promising.

Thanks again Maddie, you have been a great help.O0

Hi Steve

I have just finished looking for the deaths of R.J.Crompton from 1953 -1969

1954 Jan - Mar
Rosina Crompton 54 Plymouth 7a 750

1963 Oct - Dec
Rosina Crompton 72 Bristol 7b ? 2

The question mark is for the 7b . Very difficult to read.

Those were all the Rosina's for all those years

Have just found out that Rosina did marry Mr.Hamlin and she was in her 90's when she died.

So she more than likely died in the late 1960's or 1970's as Rosina/Rose/Rosie Hamlin or Halmin. and possibly in the Harrow, London area.

Hi Steve,

I carried on from where Maddie left off and found this one.

Year 1982
District Colchester
Vol 9
Page 2287
Rosina Julia Hamlin
DOB 26 MR 1883
You little beauty Julie, that has to be her. Her sons relatives in Australia, new her in her 90's so that would make her 99 when she died.:D

Thank you Julie, will have to get the death cert.
I wonder why she ended up in Essex. I have a strange feeling that she may have come from there originally. Well I hope so, because I have not found her birth yet.

I will have to tell Janice(newmexican). Thankyou so much.

Hi Julie and Maddie,

I think I have found out why Rosina Crompton/Hamlin/Giggens/Jiggens died in Colchester.
Her mother Annie E Jiggens, remarried in 1919 to a Sydney Howard, and the marriage was registered in Colchester, Essex.

I have made all the beds now which is why I am on here a bit later than usual.

Now what next ?!!

Hi Steve,

There seem to be a few Jiggi(e)ns from the Essex area. Will you be getting Rosinas 2nd marriage certificate?
Oh yes Julie, after all yours and Maddies efforts, it would be foolish not to.

It will more than likely turn out her father on this one will Herbert or something. :) :)

Thanks again to you both.:
kissu:

ps. forgot to say Thomas Miller Giggens/Jiggens died in 1887.

Hi All,

A little bit of info from Janice(NewMexican).

Apparently her aim, was to live to be a hundred. And by god, did she live. Travelled all over the world, married twice, and nearly made it to the century. I think 99 is 100 in my book.

This lady, was something else.:)

Hi Maddie
I'm almost 100% sure that the Rosina Crompton who died in Plymough in 1954 was my paternal grandmother. My father looked after her in her flat on Wolsdon Street during her final days.
Rosina was married to Arthur Crompton.
Regards
Paul Crompton (Perth, Western Australia)
