Anyone’s ancestors were in Royal Caledonian Asylum. Two of mine have, it was a school to maintain and educate the children of Scottish soldiers, sailors, and marines - also poor Scottish children of London. The school still exists and have a genealogy person. I’m planning on getting their school records.
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,

One of my ancestors was also in the Royal Caledonian Asylum. I have received his school entry papers. If you haven't already done so (as I know you posted your message in May!) you must get the reports for your guys. The reports for my ancestor gave information on parents, siblings, address, sponsorships and lots more. A really great sorce of info.

Turns out my GG Grandfather was in there as his Scotish father was too ill to work!

Good luck with your research.
