1852 marriage

No sister Miriam on the shipping record and no baptism in NSW index for a Miriam after 1839 arrival.

Looks like Peirce not Pierce.

Thanks Steve.

Transcribed as Selina. However I think it's the daughter of James Nash and Elizabeth Rootes and 1839 shipping record, marriage and burial all have Sabina. Also Sabina as mother's name on baptisms of two children.

No parents names on her marriage or burial. Can't see another James & Elizabeth Nash with a Wesleyan baptism around 1827 in E Sussex or Kent for a Sabina. Can't see any other ref to a Selina.

If witness Miriam Nash is a sister I can't find her. Have not checked yet if a sister-in-law. No marriage in NSW index 1839 - 1852 for a Miriam to a NASH. Closest is a sister Maria on shipping record.

Dave

Death NASH MIRIAM A 7442/1896 CALEB - MARY J -PARKES

Caleb is a younger brother.

But no marriage in NSW index for a Caleb NASH. He was 4 when the family arrived in 1839.

That can't fit for 1852 witness.

Marriage 452/1854 V1854452 85 HALL JAMES - NASH MIRIAM - IA

So looks like witness Miriam is unmarried in 1852.

Do we have brothers marrying sisters?? That marriage is also Wesleyan in Sydney but it won't have ages of parties or parents names.

Age at death for Miriam (no parents) points to birth that fits with Maria on shipping record.

Selina becomes Sabina and Maria becomes Miriam ??
