Seems to be a huge difference if she did change her name.

You have any more details you are able to give us? Someone might be able to help sort it out.

My mother called herself Gay and used that name her complete adult life, she was born Elsie. It made finding her very painful, it was not done officially just decided she did not like her name so changed it.

I have a Nancy and Hannah and calling themselves Ann .Also have an Elizabeth ,married as Frances ,and buried as Franny. Named her only daughter Elizabeth Frances .Called 1 of her sons Thomas Rodan Adamson, that led to her grandparents ,Frances Gibson and Thomas Rowden. In Scotland Jane Janet Jessie Jeanette all interchangeable. Early Grizal is Grace.

Edit-My sister in law was named Mary, but her Mother called her Maureen, and used that name all her life. Also another was named Agnes ,and used the name Nancy. Have a Mavis known as Toni.
