Samuel Ashton Born abt 1821 in Lancashire Hollinwood/Chadderton -

I have my 4th great-grandfather up to 1871 where he was living with his wife Ellen. I then believe i have him on the 1881 census being an inmate at Oldham Union Workhouse. The only thing that's making me doubt this is that his occupation is down as Navvy. Would this be correct for someone who has been a general labourer all their life.
