Samuel Craig Dods born 1871 Lauder, Berwickshire died Hawkes Bay NZ 1939

Trying to find out more about this man after 1891. He was an engineer and is on a ship as apprentice in the 1891 at Dunbar, East Lothian - SS Nicolaus. Lose him after that until he turns up in NZ in 1900 living Spencer Street, Sydenham, Christchurch. He is an engine fitter, then later engineer. He marries a Rose Ann or Annie and lives with her from 1911 moving to Hawke's Bay around 1919. He dies 1939 and she dies 1940. Not finding anything else at all. His parents were Alexander Dods and Margaret Craig of West Mains, Lauder. Thanks for any help

Thanks Gibbo. In 1891 he is 18 at Dunbar in Scotland and working on a ship named the SS Nicolaus from Bergen. The enumerator has crossed them all out but they are on Ancestry. Actually born 1873 - sorry I have put 71 but am sure the 1891 is him as apprentice engineer and born Lauder. Ellie, strange that Roseanna has the middle name Craig. A tree on A has her as Craig with Samuel's parents as her parents. Obviously wrong but could be a relation.

Just read it on family search. She was sole executrix and no word of any children. Willl check hers too.

She left money to a Charlotte Chandler of Christchurch and her estate to Jane Squire and her husband Henry Lindsay Squire. No family by the look of it.
