Hello,

1860 ANGEL SAMUEL DOW M OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0171

Samuel Dow ANGEL b. 27 Oct 1860 Old Kilpatrick, Dunbarton
Thomas ANGEL & Mary CLEMMENT

Married 1888 Blythswood, Lanark

Agnes MUNRO b. ?

I thought I had the death of Agnes in 1904 but

1904 ANGEL AGNES CRAIG STEWART F 50 KELVIN GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/09 0487

Wrong one - Stewart - maiden name Craig.

This is a revisit. If they can't be found in 1891 then is there a tree that shows they emigrated?

I can find no death for Samuel or Agnes on SP.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thank you very much.

1860 - 1866 looks as if an error there.

Father Thomas born Paisley although some of Samuel D's older siblings were born in England, Thomas often appears born England as well.

I had no info at all re children of Samuel D & Agnes.

Regards,

Dave

ANGEL Jessie 1889 Bridgeton, Lanark

MUNRO Agnes 1868 +/- 1 total of 12

I have no idea what the initials J M are for.

Forenames that begin with 'agnes j' zero hits for births.

The marriage record has her name as Agnes Junner.

Perhaps the M is for Munro.

I'd say 1860 became 1866 by error. With an older brother a minister and middle initial D and no sign of them in Scotland in 1891 I'd say so.

ANGEL Jessie born 1889 Bridgeton, Lanark and Abel born at sea so 27 Oct 1890 would fit.

Possibly arrived Montreal rather than Ellis Island. But must have been in New York at some time.

It must be his brother Stephen and family who also vanish from Scotland around the same time 1888, who could have ended up in Argentina. That can be another topic soon. ;)

I can't see a birth in New York for a Mary S abt 1893.

So they were living in New York state around 1893-1895.

Samuel's parents married in England and his elder brothers were born there so it does not worry me too much that his father is listed as 'born England' on records in USA. I'd say there is no chance of there being another Samuel D ANGEL who could fit.
