Hi,
Trying to trace my g.g.grandfather John Sanders born c1829 at Bloom Court Yard, Nottingham.
Census returns;
1901 aged 74 Bloxwitch, Staffs, wife Eliza 53. ( possible 3rd wife )
1891 '' 65 '' '' '' '' '' 43.
1881 '' 50 '' '' '' '' '' 34. Collery winder.
1871 '' 44 Sedgley '' '' '' 24. Engine Fitter, coal mines.
1861 '' 35 '' '' '' '' Rosannah 25. Engineer at coalpits. (2nd
wife, name spelt Saunders)
1851 '' 22 Sedgley '' unmarried, living at Highfields with John Taylor, occupation Whimsey Worker, which is a name for a man who worked the collery winder.
In 1861 he had a son Joseph 9 and, daughter Sophia 1.
With the age of Joseph to Rosannah i think ther could be another wife.
All census returns apart from1851 he was born in Nottingham that one had it as Derbyshire.
Nothing on him before the 1851 census.
Do members think i'm on track with this man.Info & coments welcome
Cheers Iain Sanders
