Thanks. :2fun:

Dave
Here lies the body of John Sands. He died the 8th September 1784 aged 94 and his wife Elizabeth who died 29th June 1795, aged 81. Buried here too is William, son of William and Anne Sands of this parish, the grandson of the aforementioned John and Elizabeth Sands, who died 28th December 1809 aged 36. Also the last mentioned William Sands who died 12th September 1827 aged 76 and also Catherine his wife who died January 3rd 1844, aged 72 years.
As I read it Dave I would say that Catherine was a second wife looking at the age differential. Anne may have been buried in another parish nearby. I know this area quite well and there are many small country churches names after early celtic saints. Hope this is what you wanted. :)

Hello Jay,

Thanks but that's not exactly what I was after. I don't understand the difference between 'last name' and 'last said' so I have come to this conclusion based on matching calculated birth dates.

John d. 8 Sep 1784 age 94 b. 1690
spouse Elizabeth d. 29 Jun 1795 age 81 b. 1714

they married ??

son William d. 12 Sep 1827 age 76 b. 1751
spouse Ann [THOMAS] d. ? age ? b.

they married ??

grandson of John - William d. 28 Dec 1809 age 36 b. 1773
spouse Catherine d. 3 Jan 1844 age 72 b. 1772

they married ??

I'm sure the trees have it all wrong. They have William b. 1773 with siblings born 1801 and 1804.

I can't find any of the three marriages.

Hello Jay,

John d. 8 Sep 1784 age 94 b. 1690

son William d. 12 Sep 1827 age 76 b. 1751
spouse Ann [THOMAS] d. ? age ? b.

they married ??

grandson of John - William d. 28 Dec 1809 age 36 b. 1773
spouse Catherine d. 3 Jan 1844 age 72 b. 1772

they married ??

Dave
" last name " = the father not the son and "last said " another reference to William the father.

Hi Dave

The trees have him married to Elizabeth Wilson b. 1714 - d.1795 in 1746.

This may or may or may not be some help...

Quote from story from Anc. trees.

Thanks Geoff.

That's a good bit to add to my tree.

One tree had Ann's name as THOMAS but I can't find any of the marriages apart from John to Ellen WILLIAMS in 1836.

Probably going to need the parish reg' for the marriages... plenty of info on offspring in FS & IGI. William's wife just says Ann, no surname.

That fits place and name and not long before before a 1773 birth.
