If 1861 Census is the first since marriage, then it is not unusual for them to be missing.Assuming she was married before ,and reverted to her maiden name.

Problems with ages in the census transcriptions.

It would seem they were together in 1871 and 1881 with the marriage in 1883.

1871 is right one for Sarah because of the cousin and the nephew.

I doubt there are 2x Sarah Stanford CARTER so must be 1883 marriage or some error in the index ??

No idea if they are together in 1861 or not as I don't have either of them yet for that one.

I've had no luck yet with Harvey trying to find a connection to Mary Ann ROWE.

Double life springs to mind. I have 1 on my tree far earlier than Harvey Rowe.

Edit- He seems to be missing in a few Census ,and ages keep changing. Not found a Bapts yet .Only found that 1871 census with Sarah S Carter.
