Can't find William, Anne or Elizabeth Saunders in 1851. Using Soundex I have found this entry which only fits in parts

HO107/1954/F351/p28
1 James Street, St philip and St Jacob, Clifton, Bristol

William Sanders 25 Potter Bristol
Anne Sanders 26 Bristol
Charlotte Sanders 5 mths Bristol

It's the only William who is a Potter with wife Ann that I can find but Charlotte only fits because of the age. Also I can't find a birth ref for her.

I have found the marriage

29 December 1849 St Paul, Portland Square, Bristol

William Saunders bachelor father's name George Saunders
Ann Evans Spinster father's name Benjamin Evans

Thanks Emeltee.

Anne 1 year older, and William a potter and in Bristol looks to be the family with a Charlotte instead of Elizabeth.

One day next week I'll look up the other shipping reel at the State Library.

We only have William in 1851. His father George is alive in 1856 and the 1868 death aged 81 might be the right one.

No occ for George yet. Is it on the 1849 marriage for William?

Marriage has his father's occ as Brass something.

This may be the 1841, though William [8] age looks wrong..
RD: Clifton
Add: Possibly Batcheler's Walk
Ref: Piece: 378; Book: 3; Folio: 37; Page: 12

George Sanders 45 [Brass something]
Betsey Sanders 45
William Sanders 80 [Ind]
George Sanders 15 [Labourer]
William Sanders 8
Sarah Sanders 7
[All BiC]

Bitton is only about 5 miles NE of Keynsham..

Geoff

EDIT: Should have also said Clifton is West of Bristol, so possibly the 1841 is wrong..
