Hello,

I am trying to find School records for my father Herbert Thomas Bustin (1913 - 1990) He went to Wytham village school near Oxford, I have found that there is a punishment book for the pupils of the school from 1910 onwards but it is in the possession of the Oxford Diocese, does anyone know how to access them on line. I am also trying to find electoral roll records as well but have only one for Hatch ride Wokingham Berkshire in 1935 found and two registrations from Guildford in 1954 and 1955 If it is compulsory to register why cant find more. I have the General registration record of 1939 by the way. Thank you.

Hi Gwen

There are only so many E/R's covered by Anc. [24] & FMP [15], if you go to their respective collections you can see the lists of what is covered. Berkshire up to 1965 and Surrey up to 1962 are in them. It is possible he was not in one of the covered areas at certain times.

Hi Geoff.

Thank you, I know that he moved many, many times, I as a child went to over 50 schools, (no I cant remember each one) all I know is they we lived in tied cottages in connection with his employment as estate maintenance man, Handyman, Gardener/Chauffer etc. and they were mostly in southern England, The furthest north being Lincolnshire 1978 - 1980 when I left home. I know he also moved a lot with his first family before 1957.
