searching for Halliday/Holliday

Hi. Can anyone find an 1851 census record for Samuel Halliday/Holliday, b @ 1845 either Ancoats or Glasgow (on subsequent census' his birthplace shows Ancoats, Manchester and Glasgow (though I think it was his brother William born in Scotland). His father is William (though he could have died before 1851 census, unsure), his mother is Selina with whom he appears on 1861 census. Have searched everywhere and with all surname variances on Ancestry but can't find anything. To find details of him and his family in 1851 would certainly answer a lot of questions. Can't find a birth for William in Scotland

Yes Amanda, you on the same track as myself, though didn't see the 1851 census for Selina in Scotland. I am so confused with this family as I keep finding conflicting evidence as to where William and Samuel were born, either Glasgow or Manchester. Its so frustrating not to find the family on 1851 census as I am sure it would make things clearer. Thank you so much for taking the time to check out for me. Take care and stay safe

The only way to see the original census is to go to Scotlandspeople there aren't any originals on any of the paying genealogy sites.
