I am trying to find some info on George Parker and these are the details that I have for now:

George Parker was born 1811 (could be London)
and died on 14th March 1886 (from Death Certificate) in London. He was a Druggist & Chemist (from records) He either owned his own Pharmacy or just worked there. The pharmacy may have either been located in St. Martins Lane or Wardour Street.

He married Frances Jane Pedrana 1837 in St Marylebone, London. His Death Certificate states G Parker son as the informant of his death (address given of son at the time of his death is 181 Wardour Street). Also may have had another son who died in a Cholera outbreak in the mid 1800's.

What I would like to know were there any other children, and to try and trace this line further. Other than what I have stated above I can find no further info on his family. It must be there somewhere. Any help would be much appreciated . I cannot find this family on any of the Census::'(

Thanks - Terri

This is an interesting brick wall. Well, any brick wall that isn't mine is interesting. Anyway, could Frances have been George's first wife? Do you have a date of death for her? I found a George Parker living at 115 Wardour Street, St. James, Westminster, on the 1881 census. His occupation is a manufacturing chemist? (It's hard to read.) He's widowed & lives with his daughter, Louisa E. M. Parker, age 24.

I hope this helps.

I think that you may have broken the brickwall. I do not have a death date for Francis Jane (nee Pedrana) (love to find this info) but looking looking some paperwork that I have from the Register of Druggists & Chemists, George Parker's address until his death in 1886 was 115 Wardour Street, so that matches with yours. I do know that he had a son George who was the informat of his death, living at 181 Wardour Street and now it seems that he had a daughter also. Did he have two marriages, god known. He may have also had another son who dies in the Cholera outbreak in London, this was mentioned in the Snow report. I would love to know how this family progressed through time. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you to all who have been doing some research for me.

Found this death for a Jane Frances Parker year 1860 dist Hackney March 1/4
You can look through Ancestrys bmd for free see link below. She could have used Jane instead of Frances or perhaps Fanny?

Hi Julie,

Thanks for this will try and order a few copies and see how it goes. Any idea how I can go about finding a census with the whole family on it. Regarding the Pedrana's (her birth name was Francis Jane Pedrana) family my problem seems to be of the ones born, married or died in England. As for the Pedrana family in other parts of the world no problems.

Hi Terri,

I'v looked through the 1841.51,61 census and not found anything that stands out, even looked through the 1891 for the 2nd family of George nothing. Found the Pedrans name on the IGI they were in Nottingham in 1808
with either a birth or christening of Frances Martha father Lewis mother Jane (spelt Louis on Frances Janes birth). Tried seeing if this name came up on the census and to see if the Parkers were nearby but nothing. Perhaps somebody might spot them on the census, but in the meantime will have another look.

Hi Julie,

Gosh that was quick, most of the Pedrana events seem to have taken place at St Mary's, Marylebone Road,London, England. I have her father Louis married Jane Shaw at St Mary's. His first and 3rd marriages were in Scotland. Only one child was born in Nottingham, the other three from this marriage was London. This part of the family is a complete mystery to me.

Regards

Terri

Hi Julie,

Thanks once again for helping. The above I do think is not mine as George and Frances Jane (Pedrana) was married in 1838. this info comes from Pallots on Ancestry.

So I am inclined to go with the first one with the address of 115 Wardour Street as this is also the address that I have. There must be some record of Louisa mentioned somewhere. I will try and look into this.

I would love for something to come of this as I will be able to go forward on Frances Janes Pedrana and her family and to follow the Parkers through to this day.

Regards

Terri

Hi Julie,

Thanks for all of this and I do think that we have hit on the right family at last. The other two people in NZ and Australia who are doing the family with me will be over the moon at having a breakthrough. How do you do it ? at least this means that we should be able to go forward with the family. Where did you find all of this information. Would you be able to tell me which will be the best way to go forward with this family. I thought that you may like to know that we have over 750 direct descentants for the Pedrana family at present. So hopefully with the help you have given us to be able to add many more.

Many thanks

Best wishes

Terri

Hi Terri,

I'm glad to be of help. I got the information off of Ancestry and after a bit of searching made a bit of headway, though George snr is still bugging me. There a few links below which may help you. Ancestry's bmd is free to view and the 1881 census is also free but the other sources are pay per view. I havnt used Findymypast for a while this is also pay per view, then theres the free bmd which only takes you up to the early 1900's or so, Genuki is a good site they have lots of info with regards where to look for certain records. You will probaly find that obtaining birth, marriage and death certificates will be inevatable along the way. If you need assistance put your post on this forum.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for all of the help and information that you have given me in the last few days. I have sent for Louisa and Thomas' marriage certificate and I do hope that it mentions her mother and father. Some day I will find out more about George Snr. Will let you know tha outcome of the marriage certificate. Some day I will find out the mystry that surrounds the Pedrana family in England.

Thanks

Regards

Terri
