Seeking information concerning a death in the Herefordshire area 1920-25

Hello,

I am trying to locate a death record in the Herefordshire Area, and have not been too successful to date. Ross-on-Wye has been mentioned an area for us to look. Well, I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia , Canada, and it's sooooo frustrating from this side of the pond. Any suggestions? I am trying to locate a death record for my great grandfather, Jose Dias, a Portugese Carpenter, who was in the UK, illegally, apparently. How do I find a death record for an Illegal immigrant? He died 1924. Anyone know how to go about this?
