just wondering if someone can help ?my father had an 1/2 brother by the name of HENRY EDMUND HICKTON ,he was born Marylebone 1896 his mother was Mary Hickton,in 1897 she married Thomas Henry Gould at Wirksworth in Derbyshire which is where she was born
in the 1911 census Henry is 15 and still in Wirksworth with his family,he joined up for the 1stWW and served with the Notts and Derby Reg and was then moved onto the Manchesters reg ,unfortunately he did not come back home and was k.i.a.
MY QUERY being..
Where can I find his records for the army

I cannot find him in the CWGC web site as a casuallty.:(

About 60% of War records were destroyed during the 2nd WW. So the chances of finding his are reduced by that amount.

I cannot see him on the Medal Rolls Index either.:confused:

Not sure where to look next, sorry.

I thought since he was only a baby when his mother married Gould that maybe he used the Gould name. I found these. See what you think.
Maybe a possibility ??
