Hi Drwe

I have just had a look and cannot find a reference. Yes, many service records were destroyed. When you say his discharge, do you mean his Pension Records?

Hi Drew,
I dont know if this will tell you anymore than you already know but i found it on national archives site.

Medal card of Brown, David W
Corps Regiment No Rank
Somerset Light Infantry 51811 Private
Royal Sussex Regiment G/26137 Private

Date 1914-1920
Catalogue reference WO 372/3

It has his number for the somerset light infantry so i dont know if that will help find further info.
