I went to the Essex RO in Chelmsford today and found in their indexes 2 direct ancestors in the lists, John Groves and James Salmon. Plus a Henry Bradford who could be an ancestor sibling. I confirmed Henry who died in 1828 in Barling, Essex is the Henry Bradford born in Dullingham, Cambs in 1752, may be the older brother of my ancestor Matthew Bradford.

I found the Groves family of Halstead sometimes resided in Polstead in Suffolk. In 1792 John and Mary Groves became chargeable to Halstead when settled in Polstead.

Often they list family members and birthplaces.
