Thanks Barbara.

Yeah, I can't find a match.

William living in Herts as of 1857. Elizabeth died 1856.

Can't find William in 1861 and can't see a death that fits in St Albans or Hatfield RD 1857 - 1871.

The first letter might be an 'S' but it is different to the one in Suffolk. It's not 'L' and second letter looks like 'p' so that limits the first letter.

Thanks Emeltee.

Second letter is a 'p' and there is a dot for an 'i' and last letter is not a 'K' so Ipswich.

Pob does not agree in various records for Sophia. How does Badwell Ash fit with Ipswich. Not near it at all.

Also name is Ellis and Eyles in records. Is there an error in my tree then?

Where are James & Lucy Eyles in 1841?

??
EYLES, LUCY 10
GRO Reference: 1848 S Quarter in RUGBY Volume 16 Page 329
EYLES, LUCY 77
GRO Reference: 1848 S Quarter in RUGBY Volume 16 Page 329

Only one in FreeBMD.

I can't find Sophia in 1841 either.

The marriage of James & Lucy ??

Might have more luck tomorrow.

I can't find a baptism for a Sophia Eyles only the one in 1827 for Sophia Ellis. I have found the following

Burial
James Ellis aged 32 22 May 1836 Badwell Ash

Marriage
Lucy Ellis/John Percy 7 March 1837 Badwell Ash

Burial
Lucy Percy aged 47 21 June 1849 Badwell Ash

Sophia is with mother Lucy and stepfather John Percy in Badwell Ash in the 1841 Census HO107/1013/2/F12/p18 (on fs)

Can't find a marriage for a James Eyles to a Lucy but a James Ellis married a Lucy Read in Westhorpe 25 November 1823, only a few kilometres from Badwell Ash.

Thanks Emeltee.

St Peters Herts has to be an error for Sophia in the census. Still rather odd with Ellis in Badwell Ash and then Eyles with Ipswich in shipping record. Lucy is not a common name so seems to be same Sophia.
