Yeah Iain, some of the stories are very sad, even more so, when alot of young men lied about their ages just so they could go & fight for King & Country in the first place....I have a 14 yr old daughter & it's incomprehensible to me to think some of the soldiers who were sent to the frontline, weren't much older than that.

Hi Helen,
My grans brother run off at 15 and joined the Royal Engineers in WW2,my grandfather found him in North Africa doing demolition work with the Long Range Desert Group. By that time he was old enough to be there.
