Mr. S. N. Innes Dead

. BUNDABERG. Friday.— Mr. Sid ney N. Innes, a leading Queensland pastoralist, died in a private hospital in Bundaberg to-dav. aeed 75.
Mr. innes owned walla station, Gin Gin, for more than 40 years, and also 3arolin station where he established a stud, which is known throughout Aus ;ralia. In his younger days he ravelled extensively in the Gulf country. For many years he was a member md chairman of the Kolan Shire Council and president of the Gin Gin show Society. He was a member ol the Brisbane and Sydney Royal ?rational Associations, and at Brisbane md Sydney shows exhibited cattle vith success. He was a native of Wroxton, Oxford hire, England, and is survived by a wldow, one daughter, Mrs. F. W. 3ooker (Sydney), and three sons Messrs. Sidney (Barolin), Hugh Walla), and Ralph Inne's (Wadeleigh 3oompa) .



Hugh Hector [son of Sidney] is buried at Walla Station cemetery as well.

RETURNING TO ENGLAND BY BOAT.

In response to an "urgent*' message from England, Mr..Hinkler and his wife decided on Friday last to leave the following-day ' by boat for. London. He had-intended to fly. home with his wife but the previous Wednesday his 'plane was slightly damaged when making a landing. in Hinkler Park, : Bundaberg, whereupon they decided tb re-turn by sea, (When the plane was damaged Mr. and Mrs. Hinkler were returning, from Barolin Station, where , they , had lunched with Mr. S. N. Innes. When landing In Bundaberg from a difficult angle and with a jgusty wind blowing the Avro Avian struck ????a. nasty rut, damaging the wood-work, one of the wings and .the úndergear. Mr. and Mrs. Hinkler were uninjured).

It will take me a day to catch up now. :D

One source says they married in Wroxton Abbey, Worthing.

Also one source says "Purchased Walla Station in 1905 and died at Walla Station."

So Caroline ended up in England to marry. ???

That does not add up if he purchased it in 1905. Marriage in Dec 1904.

Do we have any evidence Sidney was in Australia before he married?

Last census I have him in is 1871. I started post #1 on the basis I could not find him in 1881 census.

Do we have anything to show his parents James and Louisa were in Australia?

' The only new arrival from South Austra- lia to inscribe his name in the visitors' book at the Agency-General during the past week was "Mr. Sidney Innes, of Cresswell Downs. Mr. Innes travelled by the Oceana as far as Marseilles, and after brief visits to* Paris and London, has gone to Edin- burgh to spend the festive season with rela- tives. His trip is one of pleasure, and' he expects to remain in England for three months. '

So he was here for sure before he married. So they must have met in Queensland but decided to marry in England.

Got him in the newspapers for 1897 at Creswell Station northern Territory. His partner in Creswell was murdered. I wont post the article but if you want to have a look its in the ......
