I am looking for information about the sister of a General Snow who became matron of a training school for women land workers in 1916. There is a reference to her in Edith Olivier’s biography to “a very entertaining old Miss Snow as matron of our little hostel. She was the sister of a General and looked like one herself”. If the general referred to here is Sir Thomas d’Oyly Snow (born 1858) there are four candidates - Harriet Maynard Snow, Maria Isabella Snow, Eliza D’Oyly Snow, and Catherine Snow. The sister I am looking for would have been living in Wiltshire in 1916 and would be unmarried at this date.
