Hi Jenny

I have found two deaths which could be suitable, bearing in mind I don't have any details about Thomas:

June 1842 Thame 16, 73
June 1882 aged 78, Stroud 6a, 195

Any good?

Penny

Hi Penny. Thanks for responding to my request. The Thomas Slingo recorded in the 1841 census is my Thomas. Shortly after census night he was sentenced to 10 years transportation for stealing a ewe. He was sent to the Leviathan hulk and then to The York. He received a free pardon in 1846 having never left England. He disappears after this. His wife Jane (Javes) remarried to a David Cook in Chertsey Surrey in 1857. The death of a Thomas in 1842 is sadly too early for him and the 1882 death is a Thomas from another branch of the family. He was married to an Emma Stevens.

Thanks again for taking the time to look into his death for me. I've tried everywhere I can think of to find him but no luck.

Cheers
Jenny:confused:
