I'd like a look up for George please in 1851 and 1861.

I don't know when or where George senior died but Mary died in 1881 ? and George Junior married ? in NSW ? in 1871 - according to a tree. There is no SLOMAN death 1880-1882 in NSW index. Perhaps Mary remarried.

I have not found them in shipping records in assisted to Qld, NSW or Vic. or unassisted to Vic.

Hi there
Just found this site and Link. Am also trying to chase up the family tree of George Sloman who arrived in South Australia on the barque "Agincourt" in Feb 1850.
I have most info from after they arrived but none from before setting sail from England.
Any links or info on George's birth place / & marriage to Mary Louise (Maiden name unknown to me) would be really appreciated.
Also I can pass along as much info that I have been able to collect from this end. Not sure how correct all my info is but I'm pretty sure it will help someone.

I checked the fiche at the State Library today and it lists the marriage twice:

369/1878 SLOMAN George (born Bristol) & FITZWATER Alice Maria

Bristol fits with this birth registration:

Thanx for the reply & info.
The dates somehow don't seem right.
When George arrived in South Australia (supposedly from Gloucester) with his wife Mary Louise(27 years) he was 26 years old so he would have been born about 1826.

Mary Louise - Died 02/07-1881 age 60 at Prospect Adelaide
George remarried;
05/01/1882 George Sloman 61 years married Hannah Botton 53 years
Place of marriage - unknown- Little Adelaide SA
Farther - Joseph March
George Sloman - Died 23/12 1916 Age 95y at Prospect Adelaide SA

This info is only stuff I've researched myself and have not been able to double check with many other sources.

I need to find where George was born in 1824 & Who his parents were also copy of marriage certificate.

Hello Ralph,

I'd not rely too much on age in shipping records or age at marriage (often will say 21 just to prove 'of full age' when it's anything between 21 and 30) or age at death (depends on informant).

Saying that, I can't find a birth/baptism for George senior or his parents or his parents marriage so far.
