Hi

Looking for information on James Martin Norman, who was born on the 12th September 1844 in Crowcombe in Somerset, England. His parents are listed as Robert Norman and Mary Norman, nee Hedford.

Any help much appreciated, i would love to get further back on this family tree with siblings and parents.

Many thanks

Smee

Hi Smee,

I'm having trouble locationg your James Norman on the 1851 census, the only one that came near with place of birth was James Norman born abt 1838 Crewkerne, Somerset parents Robert and Elizabeth. Will have another look .

Re: Somerset Census 1841 & 1851

Hi Julie:cool:

many thanks for the information, it is great, the lady who was doing this part of the tree was only interested in James's marriage to her relative, where as in our family he is a direct decentant. I have all his history about him in NZ......is it possible for you to check out the 1861 census as well, i have been trying to find out when he actually came over from England.

Once again many thanks for this information it is awesome.

Smee,
I am not sure if this is part of your history but in the 1861 census there was a james norman that lived with his uncle. it stated abt 1843 (which fits)milverton (uncle might have not know exactly), bridgwater. somerset england, (still fits) Uncles name was James Wood he also had another nephew living with him a John Norman a year or so older than James
