Appears to have vanished, Dave.. She may have gone back to England of course

I thought I'd found her in Herbert with a brother, but turns out he married a Sophia

This may be a possible, if she didn't marry..

Hi all,
re Geoff's find for 1933

Not the right one
SOPHIA MORLEY.
A death occurred on Ernestine Plains, near Oorindi, on Wednesday last, Mrs. Sophie Morley, aged 86 Aunt of Mr and Mrs J. J. Bevan with whom she had been residing, passing away. Deceased had been ailing for some considerable time and her death came as a release for her. The body was brought to Cloncurry and buried on Thursday afternoon, Mr Peter Forrest carrying out the arrangements.

1933 C262 Sophia Morley Harry Solomon Mary Loveland

re the 1901 deaths.. right one for Mother..
Mum - 1901 C2756 Sophia Morley - Thomas Cholerton Harriet Coates

Dad - 1898 C2866 William Parkin Morley Sampson Morley Mary Ann Black
IN MEMORIAM.
MORLEY. - In affectionate remembrance of our dear Father, WILLIAM PARKIN MORLEY, who died on the 17th March 1898. The Mercury. Vincit Omnia Veritas. SATURDAY. MARCH 15, 1902.

That's interesting, if I remember correctly one of Sophia Marianne's brothers, probably Arthur, married a Sophia Solomon...

Yeah, spent quite a 'fruitless' while looking earlier, hence my weak efforts, in case anything could be drawn from them..

Can't see deaths for the girls, wondered if they went back to England. Though haven't tried variants yet, as you suggest..

Geoff

EDIT: Oh! Florence did marry then..

Yeah, after Sophia all b. Ireland, I did look for clues and assumed they may have left from Ireland.. I am not sure if the 1848 - 1912 assisted passages to Qld. included Ireland...

Oh! So in England before the passage, that solves that :)

Thanks, Val..

Looks as though the original will was made in 1913 to her niece, her husband d. 1914. I'm not fully sure I understand the implications without seeing the will and/or any codicil..

From post #12 it looks as thought Sophia has eventually gone to live with her niece in Oorindi, some distance from Mackay

I can't see her in the E/R's yet, either.

As Will says she is a Widow..presume back in 1913 when she made the will

The only marriage I can find that could fit is
1906 C2455 Sophia Morley to a Richard Taylor,
that would make her at least 51 years old when married.. after Richard's death she could revert back to maiden name...

May be at cross-purposes here.. I believe that Sophia who died in 1933 was Sophia Marriane's brother's wife..

Arthur William Morley
Spouse: Sophia Solomon
Date: 05 Dec 1888
Reg Place: Queensland
Year: 1888. No. 001373
Page Number: 10481

yep sorry - was thinking it was Sophia Marianne b 1852..

She could have returned to Uk, few marriages that would fit such as:
married 1884 in Derby to James Hardman or Arthur ward
