Thanks Geoff.

It fits one of the 2x Spencer. Don't know yet which one is mine.

We had better sneak up via a different route.

marriage: 23 Dec 1820 Chippenham, Cambridge, England
spouse: Susan Fuller

Marriages Mar 1841
Heiffer John Newmarket 14 145
Hunt Ann Newmarket 14 145

Ann's first marriage:
21 Jan 1841 St Mary S.P.
John Heiffer, full age, bach, lab of Reach, son of John lab.
Ann Hunt (x) full age, sp of Reach dau of Spencer Hunt lab.
Wits: Charles (x) Barnes, Harriet (x) Barnes

2nd.
26 Mar 1859 - Marriage of William Gilby (x) wdr full age labourer otp son of William farmer decd & Ann Heffer (x) wdr full age of Reach, Swaffham Prior dau of Spencer Hunt lab decd. Wits: James Dearsley & Sarah Ann Gilby.

Marriages Mar 1859
Gilby William Newmarket 3b 748
Heffer Ann Newmarket 3b 748

I can only see the one death for Spencer between the two marriages therefore it appears Ann's (b. abt 1820 Reach) mother is Elizabeth.

I tried to find a marriage close to Reach and both I've listed sort of fit.

Hunt = Heffer Q1 1841, so unlikely to find her with father :(
No. Oops. (William GILBY's first wife was also Ann)

I don't have Ann in 1841.

Spencer in 1851 and pob would be handy. Might rule the Soham marriage in or out. But then again, it could be Elizabeth's parish.

No. Just realised I posted the wrong 1841 census. It was Ann NIXSON.

I hope the tree you found is better than this one:

Ann HUNT
Born: Cambridgeshire, England
Died: Newmarket, Rockingham, New Hampshire, United States

No parents listed. It's a wonder they don't have everyone born and died in USA.

Someone can put me down for b. Springfield, Massachusetts :2fun:

Number of results to show: 20 | 50 | 75
Hunt
England and Wales Census, 1851
census: 1851 England

That is no help.

Thanks Geoff.

There are marriages for 2x Elizabeth, 1802 and 1807. We still don't know which one fits.

Both of Ann's marriages were at St Mary's so when it has burial records for Swaffham Prior and it has 'otp' of this parish it's confusing because there are two parishes.

So I presume William is also buried at St Cyriac & St Julitta and not St Mary's.
