Hello, Just a thanks in advance, this is doing my head in.
I've been searching for this chap in the census. He was born in Manchester but moved to Glasgow when a child with his parents, Robert Hannah and Eizabeth Barton. On the 1871 census he is found in Chelsea St Luke as an artist, and is listed as Stell Chricton Hannah. London City Directory in 1882 has him listed as Hannah, S. Crichton at 49 Walterton Rd. In the city directory 1891 he is listed at Dryburgh Rd as a builder. He dies in 1916 paddington district.
I'd like to know if he had a family of any kind and it's a mystery not finding him on the other census after he came to London. With such an unusual name it should be easy, but obviously census people had trouble with it. He is a ggguncle of mine.
Thanks from me in New Zealand for any help.
