Hello cp,

Thanks.

What do I make of that? So where is Esther? If Esther is a sibling of Emily & Mary Ann so why is her baptism not there? And why is Esther's the only one in IGI (possibly being the first born)? Perhaps it's a coincidence the parents are the same. Or we go back to the death reg being correct with father = James and esther born about 1825 somewhere in England.

Marriages Jun 1845
Slaughter Alfred W Ashford 5 43
Stockwell Esther W Ashford 5 43

I don't think you will find Alfred & Esther in 1851. I think they probably went to Australia before the 1851 census although they too have not been found in shipping records yet.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

I'm wrong about one thing:

Emily b.26 JUL 1831 c. 28 AUG 1831 Hempstead Place-Wesleyan, Ashford, Kent, England

Mary Ann b. 5 JUN 1834 c. 20 AUG 1834 Hempstead Place-Wesleyan, Ashford, Kent, England

No sign of any other Esther born around 1825.

Charles STOCKWELL & Sarah CLARK
Marriage: 6 AUG 1816 Willesborough, Kent, England

James STOCKWELL & Catherine marriage in Kent.

EDIT: Death in Qld. may or may not prove James is correct:

1900/C3202 James Stockwell James Stockwell Catherine Cook

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

I noticed on the reg on one of her children the name as Hester.

So we have Ester, Esther and now Hester. She might have been in service in 1841.

Regards,

Dave
