Hi all,
Am trying to help a friend out with his family history. I have purchased his Grandparents marriage certificate in order to trace further back but am not having much luck!!
Charles Osborne (born 1906, Bethnal Green) married Jane Welch (born 1907, Holborn, London) in 1928, Holborn, London. Their father's were Charles Osborne (a butcher by trade) and Geroge, Alfred Welch who was a street trader. Although I have managed to find George Alfred Welch's wife as Frances Bone I am struggling to find the wife of Charles Osborne or to find out anything about his parents!
I don't have much else to go on other than the name Charles Osborne has been carried down the line from Charles born c1880 (father of Charles who married Jane Welch) but, is possible the name goes further back still.
I have been told that Charles born 1907 is believed to have come from a large family of about 10 children who were mostly girls although Charles possibly had an older brother called Arthur.
Can anyone come up with any ideas on how to maybe come at this from a different angle?
Any help much appreciated.
