Death of Mrs. Shepherd.
The death of Mrs. Shepherd, of Baulk-
ham Hills, was reported on the 26th of
June. The deceased lady was a very well
known resident. She was formerly Miss
Ford, and she married Mr. Wm. Shep-
herd,
and thus was the means of uniting
two families very well known in Parra-
matta district in later years. Mrs. Shep
herd's residence on the Windsor-road was
a well-known landmark, just this side of
the little hill on the top of which is the
Baulkham Hills School of Arts. Death
resulted from an affection of the heart.
The deceased lady's funeral, the arrange
ments for which were in the hands of
Messrs. Wm. Metcalfe and Co., was very
largely attended.

Around those years there was a William Shepherd who was insolvent but he was a miller of Chippendale (Sydney).

I can find nothing in Trove that might explain the change of name and the move.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.

This is one of three topics on the families. Very difficult to trace and sort out with records missing and changes of name. There are lots of unresolved issues but some may remain a mystery. I can think of a few now but there are others that will appear after I've gone through the three topics again later today.

http://www.forum.familyhistory.uk.com/showthread.php?t=28695

http://www.forum.familyhistory.uk.com/showthread.php?t=28718

First query: Why two marriages and is that the same Frederick and why the change of name? Frederick's birth and his parents??

Marriage 4441/1877 SHEPHERD FREDERICK JACOB - THOMPSON ELIZABETH SUSAN - TAMWORTH

Marriage 7420/1886 HELLIER FREDERICK - THOMPSON SUSAN E - TAMWORTH

Regards,

Dave
