Thanks Barbara.

I had this for 1841 and didn't think it was correct

1178/40/13

so it's possibly Piece 1178 Book 6 Folio 40 page 13

This is the only one found so far and not a good fit with 'Somerset' and a sister:

Index to VPRS 14 Register of Assisted British Immigrants 1839-1871
CLARKE SUSAN age 21 - APR 1855 PERSIA 11 142
Domestic Servant Somerset With sister ??

so can't be sure when she left.

That's curious. PROV has no other CLARKE on that vessel so don't know where the 'sister' bit came from. Occupation and place of origin are not given in the index and PROV has no images.

Susan in the Electoral rolls in NSW and Susannah in her death notice. Susanna in marriage reg and notice.

Deaths for 5x Jane CLARK in Wiltshire 1851 - 1857 but none in RD Cricklade.

Edwin Thomas Penfold c. 1 Jun 1828 Tooting Graveney, Surrey
William Penfold & Elizabeth

E. T. is not with parents in 1851.

arrival: ship Resolute 639 tons
Master: Lewis
Origin: Plymouth 1852 Nov 9
Destination: Sydney 1853 Mar 21
Date Item Details Source
1853 Feb 7 via Cape of Good Hope
Passengers included a Mr. E. Penfold.

Edwin Thomas Penfold, lured by tales of fast fortunes to be made by finding gold in the colony, left Plymouth on board the ship 'Resolute' on 9 November 1852 to try his luck. Over four months later, on 21 March 1853, he arrived in Sydney. Edward's flirtation with gold mining at Bathurst was a short one, for, three years later, he had established a tobacconist business in Sydney.
I'd like a look up please for Edwin in 1851.

Thanks,

Dave
