Hi Geoff,

the 1841 Census has a Susan Rutter working as a female servant in Market Place, Hull. It gives her age as 15 which gives a birth year of 1826. She is down as not being born in the county. The ref is HO107/1230/F6.

A search on the LDS familysearch site for a Susanna Rutter born circa 1826 with father Blythe produces a baptism of a Susan Rutter in 1825 in Candlesby, Lincolnshire, parents Blythe Rutter and Ann.

Does this help?

Thanks Rupert, Emeltee and Dave...

That's excellent, another brick wall starting to crumble. I was beginning to think Henry Petherbridge was a figment of my imagination.
