Just want to clarify, is the 1886 year of birth correct, as the only one I can find is Ethel Louisa Swift, Leicester year 1896.

Hi horrobin,

Looks as Louisa Swift May have died in 1896 Leicester death registered the same 1/4 as Ethels birth. Louisa was 23. A Thomas William M Swift married in Leicester 1895 one of the brides listed is a Louisa Giborn.

A Thomas William M Swift age 30 died Leicester in 1906. Not found Ethel on the 1901 census.

For some reason Ethel isnt appearing on the 1901 census on A------y, but she is on another site.

Thanks for that Julie how sad she died in childbirth. Am not sure if Ethel might have been living with her grandparents in leire street leicester. Don't know how correct that is though.

Wow thanks for that it is all new too me I didn't no much about my father's family so am just starting to do some research. I no there was a lot of falling out in the family. Ethel my Dad's Mum remarried when my father was young. His and her first husbands name was BROOKS. Gosh i have a lot of searching to do don't I??

I can't answer that question at the moment, got a lot of searching to do but i hope the same as you. My Father died a few years ago so i can't question him.

I don't no exactly what year Ethel's grandmother died yet but she was dead by the time Ethel was 14yrs. Still sad.
