Sydney Morning Herald 1960

Sydney Morning Herald apparently did a story on my great grandmother in 1960 when she turned 80. I have been through the SMH papers online several times and cant find the article. Im beginning to wonder if it was another newspaper and for some reason over the years the family story changed the name of the newspaper. Maybe it was the local Junee paper

My great grandmother was Emma Sarah Parker and she lived in Junee NSW.
Can someone have a look and see if they can find it please.

had a look on Trove Gibbo, cant see anything... wonder if you contact the Wagga Daily Advertiser paper and see what they have..

What month would it have been gibbo?

Trove ends 1954 for many papers.

I just found Junee Southern Cross newspaper in facebook so will message them and see if they would have old newspapers around. The Southern Cross has been around for ever, mum worked there when she was a kid so they would have been the local paper in 1960 to.

Yeah he died before mum was born. I will get onto the Junee paper and also the State Library.

Its ok Dave, I will email all the newspapers and the state library and see what they say. Sometimes they do a free search for a hour or so. Well used to anyway.
