In 1797 a Matthew Bradford wed Susannah Woodhouse in Waltham Abbey, Essex.

In 1798 my ancestor Matthew Bradford married Susanna Watty in Southchurch, Essex.

Matthew Bradford of Waltham Abbey died in 1841 aged 76 so born c1764/1765.

My Matthew died 8 years later aged 85 so born c1764.

Two Matthew Bradford's born around the same time, married a year apart to women named Susannah.

My Matthew is the one who I believe came from Cambridgeshire originally.

The one who died in 1841 said in his will he had a brother George and the one who I believe is mine born in Westley Waterless did not appear to have one so luckily there is nothing to rule him out.

I think I have just disproved the 1765 Westley Waterless one. It was William his brother not George, that was his son.

A William Bradford was born in 1773 with same parents as Matthew born 1765 in Westley Waterless.

A Matthew Bradford was born in West Wickham in 1767 and had a brother William in 1769 but they both were buried that year.

So I think I can rule out the Westley Waterles one.

A Matthew Bradford was born in nearby Dalham in 1762 and one in Great Bradley in 1762 in Suffolk so one of them could be mine.
