can anyone help with the goody side of my family all i now is my nan was name mary ellen born 1912-14 west midlands i need to now who her mom and dad was think her mom was name mary a , I NOW SHE WAS MARRIED TWICE first to a roberts then a goody, she had a son when she was a roberts with a funny first name WATNA well thats how its pronounced and when she married a goody she had mary ellen who was married to albert ernest perkins and she had a bro named henry whose wife was name ellen and they had 2 sons peter and cant remember the other one but i now 1 died thanks to anyone who can help

1. Mary E Goody year 1912 district West Bromwich vol 6b page 1488 mothers maiden name McDonough

2. Mary E Goody year 1914 district Wolverhampton vol 6b page 1382 mothers maiden name Turner

Year 1914 district Wolverhampton Sept 1/4 William Goody a Mary A Roberts is listed. Will see if a McDonough or Turner married a Roberts.

Found this marriage for a Mary Ann Turner year 1895 Sept 1/4 district Wolverhampton, there is a Watson Roberts also listed, so perhaps the sons name should have been Watson not Watna.

Well Marys son Watson? found a birth for a Watson Turner district Wolverhampton year 1895 Sept 1/4. There is also a death for a Watson Roberts born abt 1863 death registered 1898 district Wolverhampton. On the 1891 census there is a Watson Roberts (born Gloucestershire) with family and a Mary A Turner age 14 servant (born Bilston Staffs).

thanks julie thats seems to be as thou its got to be the one too coincidental not tobe cuz watson(watna)is not a common name all i now about them is that they lived at daisy bank (coseley,bilston) when my nan was born in about 1912-14 but thanks

hi julie want to now if u can help me on another part of family re the perkins
i now that my grandad (albert ernest perkins) his mom and dad were joseph and elizabeth but cannot find what her maiden name was and also josephs mom and dad were phillip and sarah(bayliss) i now thaqt she was born in 1859 all i can find out is that she lied about josephs age but i think its 1877 but on the 1881 census she is on and joseph but not phillip but i got afeeling that he might have been married to someone else because ive been told that joseph was born out of wedlock,if u can find anything it will be a big help thanks jayne

Can you give me the details from the 1881 census as its not coming up on the site I use (I've been looking under Staffordshire).

Joseph Perkins year 1877 Wolverhampton
and these 5 for Joseph Bayliss

1875 district Dudley September 1/4
1877 March 1/4 district Dudley
1877 June 1/4 district Dudley
1877 June 1/4 district Walsall
1878 June 1/4 district West Bromwich

ive got joseph on the 1881 census as a perkins but his mom was sarah bayliss and they lived with her dad david bayliss from wot the family said she was married to phillip perkins but she had joseph out of wedlock but from wot i can see the only phillip perkins in the staffs area was married to someone else but i dont now about them in the census after 1881, all i now is that joseph was born about 1877 and sarah was born in 1859 , anything you can find will be a big help thanks jayne;

Looks as though we're getting somewhere.

Its looks like Phillip and Elizabeth never married, they are both together on the 1881 and 1891 census, heres the 1901:-

civil parish Darlaston, reg dist Walsall

Elizabeth Perkins head age 41 widow born Darlaston
Joseph Perkins stepson age 25 occ nut/bolt turner born Darlaston
Edward Perkins stepson age 18 occ plate layers lab born Darlaston
James Perkins stepson age 16 born Darlaston
Harriet Perkins stepdau age 13 born Darlaston
Lily Perkins stepdau age 10 born Darlaston
Benjamin Perkins stepson age 8 born Darlaston
Gladys stepdau age 1 born Darlaston

Sarah Perkins head wid age 46 born Sedgley
Alfred Perkins son age 15 born Sedgley
Benjamin Perkins age 15 born Sedley
David Perkins son age 4 born Sedgley
Samuel Perkins son age 11 born Sedgley

1891 (looks like someone else are looking for this family as there are two name corrections (Bayliss/Perkins)

Alfred Bayless age 6 born Sedgley
Benjamin son age 9 born Sedgley
Joseph son age 16 born Sedgley
Samuel son age 1 born Sedgley

It looks as though the Perkins family on the 1901 census with Elizabeth isnt them. They are on the 1891 census with Elizabeth and a Edward Perkins, so they are her her step children.

There is a Joseph Bayliis (just wondered if he used that name instead of Perkins) on the 1901 census age 23 cousin to a family called Smith.

hi julie thanks for all that info this is whats getting me one of my family said that is was definately sarah perkins(bayliss) who was josephs mom but from what i can see it dow look like she was married to phillip my family said they thought joseph was born out of wedlock and on the 1881 census there is only sarah,joseph and her dad david bayliss and the only other info they gave me was they linked the perkins back to wiltshire so i dow now if that will help.the only other thing i nhow is that josephs kids were arthur,freddy,albert(my grandad),florence and lucy,dow now if that will help but thanks a lot im at a brickwall speak to you soon
