hi julie dont now if this will help but just found a sarah bayliss and a phillip perkins married in dudley at st andrews in 1875 but cant find anything else hope it helps jayne

Hi Jayne,

Had already posted that to you. The children on the 1891 census with Sarah have their surname as Bayless (with 2 corrections by someone, corrected to Sarah Bayliss and Sarah Perkins) so are they hers and Phillips or someones elses? and is the Joseph Bayliis cousin to the Smiths Joseph Perkins?

Will have another look but cant promise anything.

hi julie thanks for what youv found but ive been routing and i think that philip used another name in 1891,i can find him in 1871 in tipton but in 1891 i can see a sarah perkins and a joseph in stafford about the same ages but i dont now if they are the right ones but got a feeling they are but cant check if you can that would be great . the other alternative i got is a william,if you can find anything would be greatly appreciated ta speak to you soon jayne

We've already got Sarah on the 1891 and 1901 census as widow. The only Philip Perkins that seems the nearest is born abt 1852 Dudley with wife Elizabeth living in the civil parish of Cannock.

Jayne I suggest that you get the marriage certificate for Sarah and it will give you both the bride and grooms fathers name and occupations family address and the ages of the bride and groom and the witnesses may be family members.

The death for a Phillip Perkins in 1894 Cannock could be Elizabeths husband.

soz julie forgot to tell you i found a death for philip perkins in 1907 in dudley so should be on a census jayne

Theres no Sarah Perkins for Olbury is that the right spelling, found a Sarah Perkins born Oldbury Worcestershire abt 1859 with husband Thomas Perkins and childen living in the civil parish of Dudley.

Nothing for Philip/Phillip Perkins in Staffordshire only Worcestershire.
