Hello,

A possible death for Rachel:

Deaths Sep 1844
Luton Rachel Bamford Keynsham 11 88

Privately submitted IGI entries - parents Aaron & Hannah:

Rachel Banford LUTON c. 21 Feb 1836 Siston, Gloucester
Elizabeth c. 5 Sep 1830
Matilda c. 3 Jun 1827

I can't find the marriage of Aaron & Hannah but it's possible Hannah's maiden name is BANFORD/BAMFORD.

Regards,

Dave

Hello,

I've found one more child born to Aaron & Hannah, this time an extracted IGI entry:

Mary c. 24 Feb 1833 Siston Batch: C050548

Probable death:

Deaths Sep 1840
LEWTON Mary Keynsham 11 __5 ?

This is not the death of Aaron aged 40 in 1841 census:

Deaths Jun 1847
Lewton Aaron Keynsham 11 86

because of this burial:

LEWTON Aaron Longs Green 6 Jun 1847 15m Bitton

Regards,

Dave

Hello Steve,

Thank you very much. It's possible a few of these census listings have been posted in other threads but I'm looking at it again with an open mind. :D

There are two Elizabeth LUTONs:

c. 22 Sep 1818 Bitton - Aaron & Ann HODGES (mine)
c. 5 Sep 1830 Siston - Aaron & Hannah ? (other family)

I had this one for my Elizabeth which may or may not be correct:

1851
Civil parish Bristol St. George
Sub RD Ashley
Thomas Green head age 21 occ carpenter born bitton
Elizabeth wife age 22 occ cordwainer born Siston

This is driving me mad. :2fun:

Regards,

Dave

Hello Steve,

I can only find one marriage:

Marriages Mar 1851
Green Thomas Clifton 11 326
Lewton Elizabeth Clifton 11 326

Please see if you can find Aaron in 1861 as a pin whitener or similar trade - perhaps a progression to a more skilled one ?? (am I remembering something  )

I'm not sure his spouse will be there in 1861, although I don't know yet if that is my Ann or the other Hannah:

Deaths Dec 1859
Luton Ann Keynsham 5c 499

I don't have a confirmed death yet for either Aaron or either spouse.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Steve,

What do you make of those two 1851 census listings with Thomas GREEN and spouse? A cordwainer is a shoe maker. If that Elizabeth GREEN living in same dewlling is Aaron's daughter then that's not my Elizabeth but the one baptised in 1830.

Regards,

Dave

No luck for Aaron any later than 1851, except for a death in Aston, Warwickshire in 1879. So that would be Birmingham. Age at death 80yrs old.(1799).

There is a tree on A****ry for Matilda Lewton. b.1827. Warmley, Gloucestershire. Aaron and Hannah as parents.

Hello Steve,

Thanks. I can only find the one marriage in Clifton. Neither Elizabeth is old enough to be mine born 1818. They both look to be the other Elizabeth c. 5 Sep 1830. Both carpenters and spouse both shoe makers. ???

In looking for an earlier marriage for my Elizabeth this census listing was provided but IF Frances is a sister of Elizabeth then it's not MY Elizabeth either because my Elizabeth has parents Aaron & Ann:

1841
Civil parish Winterbourne
RD Clifton
sub RD Stapleton
George Maggs age 25 occ hatter
Elizabeth Maggs age 25
Ellen Maggs age 2
NK Maggs age 2 weeks

Frances Luton age 20 occ F.S.

Frances is living in the same house, the single black line indicates that she is living separately though transcribed as living with them.

Frances LUTON c. 11 Feb 1827 Winterbourne, Gloucester, England - Thomas & Sarah

Elizabeth LUTON & George MAGGS
30 Oct 1836 Temple Bristol, Gloucester

Dave

Hello Steve,

Only the two deaths for an Aaron in the index. One in 1847 age 15 months and the one in Aston aged 80.

There is a tree on A****ry for Matilda Lewton. b.1827. Warmley, Gloucestershire. Aaron and Hannah as parents.
Warmly is not that far from Bitton and Siston. Those baptised in Siston could have been born there or in Bitton. If the census says Bitton or Siston I don't distinguish.

Does that tree have a maiden name for Hannah? Or a birth or death?

Regards,

Dave

Hello,

I'd like a look up please in Gloucestershire in 1851 for the following LEWTON / LUTON family.

Marriage about 1848 can't be found so far.

Joseph b. abt 1826 Oldland/Bitton/Siston ?
spouse Mary (nee PEACOCK) b. abt 1827 probably Bitton
possibly a daughter - died before 1857.

Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. Well, I think they were both born in Gloucestershire. :)

I certainly didn't expect to find them in Wales. :D

Now the real fun begins.

Regards,

Dave
