Earth is going to blow up tomorrow. :'(

I can't get you to another planet, but I CAN let you and your family use my time machine to go back in time to any era and place of your choosing.

Where would you want to be dropped off? (and why)..................

Hi ya all,

Well I would love to go back to 1835 to meet my great,g,g,grandfather and mother to find out if william was the son of my great,g,g,grandfather. I would really like to know why his name was changed! Or was it that william was born out of wedlock to another man?

Maybe one day I may find out the truth ::)

Cheers all,
#Brit

Hi Brit,

Long time know here!

I have some similar research problems to your own!! Black sheep and all that! :)
Though I am not really sure that I would like to go back to the victorian age - was a horrible time - especially for my ancestors :)

Maybe I could go back with "loads of money" that would help 8)

Dear Dave

At the moment, I would be quite happy to go back to about 1920ish!! Then, I could ask my ggrandmother on my mum's side what her parents were called. Actually, I could talk to anybody on that side and ask them the same question. They're all in that limbo time after the parish registers that I have access to but not seeming to show up on census. :'( I'm tired of hitting my head on brick walls!! Otherwise, can I go to chat to Galileo please? Or Da Vinci? I'd love to ask Da Vinci who the person to Jesus' right is supposed to be!! I'd also love to ask Galileo all about the Illuminati. Sorry to be boring but I find these things fascinating!!

I would probaly need so many visits and so much time that we may run out of time! Though this is a time machine - we could come back before we have set off.

Bugger it - lets go now and come back before the next match - seems theres going to be a queue to see Da Vinci!!!

Just sit back with very smug smiles on our faces!! And charge bucketloads of money to impart our phenominal er... phenomenal er..., phenonamal er... extraordinary knowledge to all and sundry.

Oh, BTW, get to the back of the queue... Da Vinci's mine - and I may be some time!!

You lot boggle my mind.

Would love to visit Da Vinci so I'm joining the queue as well. Though I doubt we would solve the questions. He was suposed to be quite a wiz with the hidden meanings.

I'd love to ask Da Vinci who the person to Jesus' right is supposed to be!!

I had heard that the person on Jesus's right was Mary Magdaline, & there is a distinctive feminine appearance. But as there are only 13 in the picture which disiple is missing. He was supposed to have 12?????

That time machine fixed Dave? Soccer interesting but, Need to ask questions of GGG Grands. They seem to be hiding.

Hello again ;D

I can just imagine the scene - a group of rather drunk genealogists with cress stuck in their teeth (from Brit's egg sandwiches) suddenly appear out of nowhere in a strange looking machine in the middle of the Sistine Chapel. There's Da Vinci with his paintbrush, just about to put the finishing touches to a cherub's wing, when we start asking questions about the ins and outs (so to speak!!) of Jesus' love life. No wonder the guy was thought to be a nut-case. Hey!!, maybe that's it!! Maybe we did go back in time ( but we haven't gone yet and that's why we don't remember), we saw Da Vinci, and he told everyone about these strange people from the future who appeared in a flying machine. Everybody just said ' Yeah, right Leo, don't sniff the paint thinners so much next time' God, we couild have changed the course of history!! That explains why the world's so messed up these days. IT'S ALL OUR FAULT!!

One more for the Da Vinci queue please! A stop on the way back to Wembley in 1966 to see us win the world cup again would be nice.

Mainly though I would be happy to ask my gt gt grandmother, who the fathers of her 2 illegitimate children were. They were born 10 years apart which means they may well have had different fathers and it leaves an untidy gap in the family tree. I would ask her why she married the man she did 9 years after my Gt Grandmother was born, (the parish records indicate he was a bit of a loser) why there is no birth listing anywhere for her daughter and what actually is going to cause her to die from "Hepotic Dropsy & Coma", at 42 leaving her daughter an orphan at 11 years old; because it appears to be an alcohol related condition.

Cheers,
Jill

Hi

Drop me off in August 1863 at Warninglid in Sussex please. I can visit my 4 month pregnant great, great, grandmother and ask her how long she has been seeing the father Thomas and when his sick wife is going to die, and I want the whole lowdown on the juicy details of the affair.

Wouldn't it be good to go back to a time where everyone was content with their life, there would be no fighting, religious oppression or weapons of mass distruction. Would we be living in caves or  crawling out of the swamp? Carol:)

Hi

If I had a second choice to be dropped off, I'd ask to be dropped off in Auguat 1825 in Soho, London. A random date, but this was around the central time that my Coombs ancestors lived in this London area. They were there in 1819 and still there in 1830. The coachman George Coombs. I'd ask him where he was born, and where his wife was born and who their parents were, so I'd have my ggggrandfather William Coombs's 4 grandparents names.
